Welcome to the website for the McMichael High School Band program.  We are located in Mayodan, NC, just north of Greensboro, NC.  We are one of four high schools in Rockingham County Schools.  

McMichael Band members....it is Festival Time! This is an important week. We have a few reminders for this week.

9/26/18 Wednesday (today): practice after school till 6pm

9/27/18 Thursday: practice after school till 6pm; Start bringing in your labeled coolers, extension cords, etc to the band room.Baked goods: start baking your items for the baked goods table. Show Shirts: Our very own Amelia Bullins has designed our show shirts! Be on the lookout for an email and order form.

9/28/18 Friday: School is in session!!!! It is a makeup day. Homecoming Football Game that night, call time TBA.  Bake your items for the Baked Goods Sale


9/28/18 Friday after game: Stadium Clean Up!!!! Bring your gas leaf blowers to blow trash to the bottom of the stadium for clean up. The band members will be dismissed when the stadium is clean. 


9/29/18 Saturday: Festival Day! Call Time 8:00 am,auditorium. Bring your baked goods, refillable water bottle, small snacks to keep on your person 
rain gear, other accessories you might need to keep with you. Be prepared to smile all day long and work till the stadium is clean.

FYI: The JV Football team has dissolved and there will be no more JV football games this season. Therefore, McMichael Bands will not be operating the concession stand on Thursday nights.

 Good Morning Band Families! Hopefully everyone is safe and on high ground! Here are a few reminders for the week of September 17, 2018.

  • 2 Hour delay for Monday September 17, 2018. (There is always the chance this could change before school starts)

    Festival Updates

  • Phoenix Festival is in less than 2 weeks!

  • Planning meeting Tuesday, Sept. 18th at 6pm to discuss Bicentennial (Sat. Sept 22) as well as continue planning our Phoenix Festival.

  • The following items are needed for Festival:

    Coolers
    Extension Cords
    Golf Carts
    Tents
    Folding Tables and Chairs
    Trailers
    Portable Light

  • Please make sure your name is on the item(s) you bring.Contact Priscilla Flynt with items you can bring.

  • For those of you who have not been in contact, remember we need you. Again, if at least one family member does not work on this day an additional $50.00 will be added to your fair share. Please email Wendy Joyce or Priscilla Flynt to sign up for an area to work. 

  • Festival Ad Space: An email was sent on Friday, September 14 with an ad space form attached. These ads are available at a reduced rate to band parents. Use this form to write a special message to your student and have it recorded forever in the Festival Program! Money and forms Due Tuesday by 3:30pm.

Week At A Glance

Monday - 2 hour delay
Tuesday - Festival band student ad forms due, 
Festival meeting at 6.
Wednesday - After school rehearsal till 5
Thursday - After school rehearsal till 5
Friday - Varsity Football game - WRMS band members will be joining us. Contact Priscilla Flynt to volunteer in concessions.
Saturday - Madison Bicentennial Festival - Parents - please check your child's volunteer hours. Parents are needed to help watch over our kids at their various stations.
